WLSA Scholarship Policy
WLSA scholarships aim to encourage students to actively develop in academics and overall personal qualities, recognizing those who demonstrate outstanding talent and potential in leadership, academics, music, sports, art and other fields.
1. Scholarship Selection Criteria
WLSA Merit-based Scholarship
The student's demonstrated leadership and academic performance will be comprehensively evaluated. Leadership: We will assess the student's roles and leadership in student clubs, student union and social organizations, their ability to organize activities and the results achieved, their influence in teamwork, and their problem-solving skills. Academic Performance: We will primarily consider the student's course grades, standardized test scores, academic competition results etc., to comprehensively evaluate their mastery of knowledge in various subjects, learning ability and spirit of academic inquiry.
WLSA Talent Scholarship (Music, Sports and Arts)
In addition to meeting basic academic requirements, the student's musical talent, athletic ability or artistic aptitude will also be evaluated. Musical Talent: We will assess the student's proficiency in playing musical instruments, vocal performance, music composition, music theory knowledge etc., which can be evaluated through the student's musical work displays, participation in musical activities and awards won in music competitions. Athletic Ability: We will comprehensively evaluate the student's competitive results in various sports, such as performance in sporting events, as well as their demonstrated sportsmanship. Artistic Aptitude: We will evaluate students in artistic fields such as painting, sculpture, design, dance and drama, considering their artistic creations, contributions to art activities, participation in art exhibitions and relevant art awards received.
2. Scholarship Categories and Award Standards
Full Scholarship: Recipients of a full scholarship will receive a 100% tuition waiver. Half Scholarship: Recipients of a half scholarship will receive a 50% tuition waiver. Encouragement Scholarship: Recipients of an encouragement scholarship will receive a 25% tuition waiver. Entrance Scholarship: Recipients of an entrance scholarship will receive a tuition reduction of 30,000 yuan.
3. Application Process
New students can apply during the admissions application process and must submit the required application materials. Current students can apply for the following academic year's scholarship at the end of the current academic year.
4. Selection Process
The school will establish a scholarship review committee composed of teachers and representatives from the school's leadership team. The review committee will comprehensively evaluate application materials and interview/written test performance, score applicants based on the selection criteria, and ultimately determine the list of scholarship recipients for each category.
WLSA Financial Aid Policy
WLSA's financial aid (also known as the WLSA Elite Scholarship) aims to provide critical financial support to outstanding students who meet the school's scholarship admission standards but face economic challenges in affording the full tuition. The core objective of this policy is to ensure that every talented and promising student does not lose the opportunity to receive WLSA's high-quality education due to their family's financial situation, thereby supporting them in getting the education they deserve.

The Funding Policies in 2015
For students whose family annual income is less than 100,000 yuan, tuition fees, miscellaneous fees, accommodation fees, meal fees, etc. will be waived. In addition, a monthly subsidy of 1,800 yuan will be provided, along with the round-trip cost of rail tickets between Shanghai and their hometown city twice a year.
The Funding Policies in 2018
For students whose family annual income is less than 120,000 yuan, tuition fees, miscellaneous fees, accommodation fees, meal fees, etc. will be waived. In addition, a monthly subsidy of 1,800 yuan will be provided, along with the round-trip cost of rail tickets between Shanghai and their hometown city twice a year.

1. For students whose family annual income is less than 120,000 yuan, tuition fees, miscellaneous fees, accommodation fees, meal fees, etc. will be waived. For students whose family annual income is less than 200,000 yuan, tuition fees and miscellaneous fees will be waived.

2. Application Period

The school will organize a dedicated review panel to evaluate the application materials submitted by students. When necessary, the review panel will verify the authenticity of the information through home visits, phone inquiries, etc. Based on the review and verification results, the student's eligibility for financial aid and the amount will be determined according to the funding policies for the current year.

3. Special Scholarship for Oxford and Cambridge:
If an A-Level student enrolls in the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge, their family will be awarded a scholarship of 300,000 yuan.
