WLSA scholarships are designed to encourage students to grow both academically and personally. They recognize students who show strong talent and potential in areas such as leadership, academics, music, sports, and the arts, and who make a positive impact on their communities. The school considers students’ academic performance, individual strengths, practical experience, and overall development.
1. Scholarship Selection Criteria
WLSA Leadership Scholarship
This scholarship considers a student’s leadership, academic performance, and community impact. · Leadership: The school considers the roles students take in clubs, student councils, community organizations, or projects. It also looks at their ability to plan and carry out activities, work in teams, solve problems, and assist in growing projects. · Academic Performance: The school mainly considers course grades, standardized test scores, academic competition results, and other academic achievements. These are used to assess the student’s academic foundation, learning ability, and willingness to explore further. · Community Impact: The school considers whether students actively care about their community and wider social issues, and whether they take practical action to make a positive difference.
WLSA Academic Excellence Scholarship
This scholarship is mainly for students with strong academic performance and clear potential for further academic development. · Academic Performance: The school considers course grades, standardized test scores, and other academic results to assess students’ knowledge, learning ability, and consistent academic performance. · Academic Competitions: The school considers students’ participation and achievements in academic competitions across different subjects. · Research and Academic Exploration: The school considers students’ experience in research projects, academic studies, and independent research. It also looks at their ability to raise questions, conduct research, and continue exploring a subject in depth.
WLSA Talent Scholarship
This scholarship is for students who show strong talent and potential in areas such as music, sports, arts, and innovation. · Music: The school considers professional skills, performance and competition experience, awards, and long-term commitment to music. · Sports: The school considers athletic ability, competition experience, results, training commitment, teamwork, and sportsmanship. · Arts: The school considers students’ skills, creative work, and creativity in areas such as visual arts, design, drama, and dance.Innovation: The school considers students’ experience in technology, engineering, entrepreneurship, and interdisciplinary projects. It also looks at their ability to turn ideas into real outcomes.
2. Scholarship Categories and Award Standards
Full Scholarship: Recipients of a full scholarship will receive a 100% tuition waiver. Half Scholarship: Recipients of a half scholarship will receive a 50% tuition waiver. Encouragement Scholarship: Recipients of an encouragement scholarship will receive a 25% tuition waiver. Entrance Scholarship: Recipients of an entrance scholarship will receive a tuition reduction of 30,000 yuan.
3. Application Process
New students can apply during the admissions application process and must submit the required application materials. Current students can apply for the following academic year's scholarship at the end of the current academic year.
4. Selection Process
The school will establish a scholarship review committee composed of teachers and representatives from the school's leadership team. The review committee will comprehensively evaluate application materials and interview/written test performance, score applicants based on the selection criteria, and ultimately determine the list of scholarship recipients for each category.
WLSA Financial Aid Policy
WLSA's financial aid (also known as the WLSA Elite Scholarship) aims to provide critical financial support to outstanding students who meet the school's scholarship admission standards but face economic challenges in affording the full tuition. The core objective of this policy is to ensure that every talented and promising student does not lose the opportunity to receive WLSA's high-quality education due to their family's financial situation, thereby helping them grow into future exceptional leaders.

The Funding Policies in 2026
1. For students whose annual family income is less than RMB 150,000, tuition fees, miscellaneous fees, accommodation fees, meal fees, etc. will be waived. In addition, a monthly subsidy of RMB 2,300 will be provided. The school will also cover the cost of two round trips per year between Shanghai and the student’s home city. Depending on the travel distance, second-class high-speed rail tickets or economy-class air tickets will be reimbursed. 2. For students whose annual family income is less than RMB 220,000, tuition fees and miscellaneous fees will be waived.
The Funding Policies in 2024
1. For students whose family annual income is less than 120,000 yuan, tuition fees, miscellaneous fees, accommodation fees, meal fees, etc. will be waived. In addition, a monthly subsidy of 2,300 yuan will be provided, along with the round-trip cost of rail tickets between Shanghai and their hometown city twice a year. 2. For students whose family annual income is less than 220,000 yuan, tuition fees and miscellaneous fees will be waived.

2. Application Period
New students can apply during the admissions application process and must submit the required application materials.
3.Selection Process
The school will organize a dedicated review panel to evaluate the application materials submitted by students. When necessary, the review panel will verify the authenticity of the information through home visits, phone inquiries, etc. Based on the review and verification results, the student's eligibility for financial aid and the amount will be determined according to the funding policies for the current year.

1. University Scholarship Application Support
